# Installing Plugins

# Graph Data Science Library

The Neo4j Graph Data Science Library (opens new window) is in preview for Neo4j 4.x, in order to make it available into the Neo4j database shipped with Hume, you will need to do the following :

Download GDS

Download the library in the plugins directory of Neo4j, with the standard Hume installation it is under ./data/volumes/neo4j/plugins.

cd ./data/volumes/neo4j/plugins
wget -O gds.jar https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/com.neo4j.graphalgorithms.dist/graph-data-science/neo4j-graph-data-science-1.2.0-alpha01-standalone.jar

Enable the procedures

Add the following environment variables to the neo4j section of the Hume docker-compose file :

environment:
  ...
  - NEO4J_dbms_security_procedures_unrestricted=gds.*,apoc.*
  - NEO4J_dbms_security_procedures_whitelist=gds.*,apoc.*

Restart the Neo4j container :

docker-compose restart neo4j
